WP4 Dissemination and implementation of research
The Swedish Environment Protection Agency lead this work package. The objective of this work package is to share and identify current activities in the dissemination and implementation and use of research for specific target groups including environmental policy makers and regulating agencies across Europe.
A comparison of research dissemination and implementation practices in North America and Europe
The overall aim of the study was to compare North American and European practices in the dissemination and implementation of research:
- to understand similarities and differences in practices and what drives them;
- to identify good practices that may be transferrable between North America and Europe;
- to identify lessons that may be transferrable regarding difficulties encountered in North America and Europe; and
- to identify any science-policy process issues where future collaboration between North America and Europe may be beneficial.
The study built on the review of dissemination of implementation of environmental research in Europe carried out in 2006-2007. The full copy of the report can be downloaded from the Swedish EPA website.
Public communication of science and technology (PCST) conference
SwEPA will be presenting the WP4 report at the Public communication of science and technology (PCST) conference in Malmo, Lund and Copenhagen at the session: Engaging and Empowering Scientists and the Public. The title of the presentation is: Communicating environmental science in Europe.
Bridging the Gap cafe session
The SKEP network co-ordinated a cafe session on day one of the programme concerning 'What moves us to action?'. The session was based on the study carried out by SKEP examining approaches to, and experiences of, research dissemination and implementation by governmental ministries and agencies in Europe. STUDY OF DISSEMINATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF RESEARCH IN SKEP MEMBER ORGANISATIONS
This report and presents the findings of a study carried out as part of Work Package 4 to establish the approaches to, and experiences of, research dissemination and implementation by SKEP member organisations. A presentation has been designed for organisations to see an overview of the study.
Workshop on dissemination and implementation of research
A workshop was be held in the Aland islands in April 2007.
